Girls Cross Country
Grade Level: 9-12
Duration: Mid August-Mid October
Practices: Morning and afternoon practices as scheduled.
Description: Cross Country is an activity for girls who enjoy running and want to learn how to compete in races. Cross Country has a very short season consisting of 6 or 7 weeks of competition. We will log between 30 to 45 miles a week running.  
Competitions: Each athlete will compete from 8-12 times per season.
Coach: Mr. Licari
Getting Involved: Information will be distributed through the local media.
Additional Information: It is very important that prospective distance runners train during the summer months and compete in their distance races during the track season. It is also important for runners to improve upper body and upper leg strength through weight training in the off season. Summer races are also good for the competitive aspects of racing and gives a reason to practice summer running.  

Boys Cross Country
Grade Level: 9-12
Duration: Mid August-Mid October
Practices: Morning and afternoon practices as scheduled
Description: Cross Country is a distance running activity in which the competitive races are approximately 3 miles. Practices are varied in distance and location and are aimed at preparing runners to race 5,000 meters (3miles).  
Competitions: Each athlete will compete from 10-12 times per season.

Additional Information: It is very important that prospective distance runners train during the summer months and compete in their distance races during the track season. Girls Golf
Grade Level: 9-12
Duration: August-October
Practices: Meets daily from 4:15-6/6:30 for practice at Elks Country Club
Description: Practice with coach on driving range, putting greens and on golf course.
Competitions: 7 major meets; 6 minor meets
Coach: Ms. Robertson
Getting Involved: Information will be distributed through the local media.
Additional Information: Must have a basic knowledge of golf. Must be at practice daily and demonstrate a willingness to work hard. Girls need to play a lot on their in the summer. They should also play in junior tournaments. They will find it helpful to get involved in Junior Golf Programs and take lessons from a golf professional. Girls are required to supply their own golf clubs, balls, and shoes. Girls on the golf team get the opportunity to play on quality courses for practices and tournaments. Golf is a lifetime sport. .Being on the golf team gives them the opportunity to be a member of a team and experience the enjoyment of an outdoor activity as well as receive instruction in the skills of golf and its etiquette.  


Girls Softball (Varsity/JV)
Grade Level: 9-12
Duration: Mid August-Late October
Practices: Daily for 1 1/2-2 hours, Monday–Friday and an occasional Saturday.
Description: Competitive program with interscholastic competition.
Competitions: Season includes double headers during the week and weekend tournaments.  
Coach: Varsity: Mr. Gutierrez, J.V.: Mrs. Kamrath
Getting Involved: Information will be distributed through the local media. Sign up in advance with team coaches or at a team meeting prior to first practice.  
Additional Information: Volleyball (Varsity, JV and Sophomore)
Volleyball Volleyball (Varsity, JV and Sophomore)
Grade Level: 9-12
Duration: Mid August-Mid November
Practices: Pre-season practices 2 times per day (A.M./P.M.) 1 week before school starts. After school, daily, once school begins.  
Description: Freshman, Sophomore, J.V. and Varsity Volleyball. Freshman tournament at end of season. Varsity competes in several tournaments during the season. Host invitational in October.  
Competitions: Usually twice per week.
Coach: Varsity: Mr. Johnson, J.V.: Ms. Reynolds, Sophomore: Ms. Holley  
Getting Involved: Information will be distributed through the local media.
Additional Information: Highly technical sport, strongly recommended to participate in summer camps to develop skill levels. Strongly recommended to try out for next level...need to have played at previous level. Opportunity available to participate in off-season tournaments...ask your coach.  

9th Volleyball
Duration: Mid August-October
Practices: Practice begins in mid August (two per day); daily, after school, when
school starts - approximately 2 hours (4-6 p.m.)
 
Description: Learn and practice the fundamentals of volleyball.
Competitions: A and B matches and an A conference tournament.
Coach: Mrs. Leu and Ms. Wamsat

Football
Grade Level: 9-12
Duration: Mid August-Late October
Practices: Daily - 1 1/2-2 hours
Description: Physical contact activity. Competitive program with interscholastic competition.
 
Competitions: Sophomore, J.V. and Varsity games usually once per week. Conference ties and state playoffs possible.  
Coach: Mr. Williams
Getting Involved: Information will be distributed through the local media. Sign up at meetings; contact a coach; attend practice.  
9th Football
Duration: Mid August-Late October
Practices: Practices run daily after school until 5:30 or 6:00 p.m.
Description: Physical contact activity. Competitive program with interscholastic competition.  
Competitions: Usually once per week.
Coach: Mr. Petersen
Getting Involved: Information will be distributed through the local media. Contact one of the coaches or attend preliminary meeting in the spring before school is out.  
Boys Tennis
Grade Level: 9-12
Duration: Mid August-Mid October
Practices: Practices everyday from 4:00-6:30 P.M. Some meets are on Saturdays.
Description: Players will learn to compete in both singles and doubles tennis.
Competitions: 5-7 dual meets; 4-5 invitationals; conference meet; state class A meet
