My last count of our enrollment for 2007-08 is 282 students. From Kindergarten to fifth grade, classrooms are all staying close to the average of 24 students per room. From my informal survey of Emerson students I see around town, many are ready to return to their friends and all that school has to offer. Likewise, the excitement of the teachers has been building during the preservice staff development and meetings.
Among the many new faces to get to know include three para-educators and two teachers.
Mrs. Mandy Boesch will be helping out the third grade classrooms. Mrs. Cindy Stoekle will be between the fourth and fifth grade rooms. Mrs. Mary Meyer will be the reading aide in Mrs. Tabitha Pickrel’s first grade classroom. Mrs. Pickrel has transferred in from her previous teaching assignment of the K-1-2 students at Duncan. The other first grade teacher, Miss Tamara Lyon, is returning to her hometown of Columbus after teaching in Lincoln’s Riley Elementary School. Mrs. Rita Douglass joins Mrs. Lora Wieser and the “Rookie Crusaders” – our Kindergartners.
Let’s make it a GREAT YEAR!
