If you want to see a room with bright energetic faces this is it! Our studies cover everything from learning colors, numbers, letters and corresponding phonetic sounds all the way up to reading on grade level.

This is quite an experience for the students as well as for me. Everyday is different with new challenges as well as new accomplishments. Things that other students take for granted often turn into new learning experiences for our ELL students. Can you imagine what it's like to see snow for the first time or to see and hear a jazz band for the first time? 

For almost thirty years, I taught fourth grade students about Nebraska history, and one of the biggest segments of our history centered on the many new immigrants who came to our state. So not much has changed. With new people come new ideas, diverse cultures, and dreams!
