Nursing
and Emergency Care

|
Members of the West Park staff have received
training in first aid, medication administration, and emergency
response protocol to take care of the students with injuries
and illness if I am not in the building.
In the event of
a student needing immediate emergency medical attention,
the
rescue unit will be called.

Student Illness
Students should not be sent to school if the student:
has a fever
is vomiting
has a contagious disease or contagious skin condition
has diarrhea
If a child exhibits any of these symptoms while at school, parents will be notified
and asked to pick up their child. Children should remain home until they are
fever or symptom-free for twenty-four (24) hours.
Parents may request that the
school nurse check their child for a medically- related reason by calling
the school and speaking with the Health Aide or by leaving a
message. |
