The following classroom rules and consequences
will help create a positive learning environment where
all students
can learn. This year I am implementing a class meeting format.
This will include the class in problem solving and help them
develop a lifelong skill of dealing with confrontation.
We will meet several times each week to share positive comments
and ways to make our classroom learning the best possible.
1. RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE AND THEIR PROPERTY
2. BE POLITE AND HELPFUL
3. OBEY SCHOOL RULES
4. DO ASSIGNMENTS
Students have a paper stoplight
on their desk with the color spots of green, yellow, red,
and blue. The light spots indicate the following consequences:
1. Green Light-Go--Students have normal second grade
privileges.
2. Yellow Light-Warning-A conversation will take
place between the student and school personnel to inform
him/her
of the behavior that needs to changed.
3. Red Light-Stop--Class meeting will be held to help the
student find a solution to help him/her select the appropriate
behavior. Students then have the opportunity to try suggestions
from peers that they feel will help the problem. Consequences
may also be needed to practice the appropriate behavior
as needed.
4. Blue Light-Principal and Parent(s) or legal guardians
will be informed of the behavior and steps needed for improvement.
