The Columbus Public Schools
Alumni Association was formed in 1990. At that time,
Jim Ernst, Sr '53, President Steve Anderson '68, and
Board members Gayleen (Oppliger) Hingst '60, Dorothy
(Encinger) Kyriss '50, and Bob Jaeggi '47, worked to
organize an Alumni Association to serve the needs of
CPS alumni. A newsletter, first published in 1990,
is supported through alumni dues and is published two
times a year and mailed to approximately 11,000 alumni.
The Executive Director maintains the 16,000 entry database
for the Alumni Association. Alumni Association services include class
lists, reunion mailing addresses, and tour arrangements for Columbus
High and the Middle School.
The Alumni Association was incorporated in 1993. The purpose of the Alumni
Association Inc., includes supporting and promoting activities and programs
directed to and responsive to the needs of the alumni, the Columbus Public
Schools Foundation, and the staff and students of Columbus Public Schools.
If you are interested in
becoming a member of the Alumni Association, annual

single member, the cost is $200 and for a lifetime
