West Park welcomed 6 new staff members to their team this fall. We are so glad to have the new faces join us. Please help us in welcoming our new staff members.
| Claire Urugutia is joining West Park as our Preschool teacher. Claire grew up in Genoa and she graduated from UNK in December of 2019. West Park is Claire’s first ever school home and family! We are so glad she chose to join us! |
| Our next new face is Stacie Roberts in the Media Center. Stacie grew up in Humphrey. She started her teaching career as a middle school teacher with Ralston Public Schools back in 2009. Stacie became a Discoverer at CHS in 2012 where she taught English and Reading. We are glad to have Stacie on board at West Park as our Media Specialist! |
| Austin Carmichael was born a Discoverer! He graduated from CHS in 2008. Austin is a UNK graduate. He began his teaching career at Central High School in Omaha. Austin then spent his last few years teaching and coaching at Shelby-Rising City. Austin is joining West Park as our PE/Health teacher. We are thrilled to have him join our team! |
| Emily Sheridan is joining West Park as a Fourth Grade teacher. Emily grew up in Syracuse, NE and then went to college at Doane. While at Doane, Emily was a member of the Women’s Track and Field team where she earned All-American honors! Emily came to us from Milford where she was a 4th grade teacher. We are excited to welcome Emily to our West Park Family! |
| Also joining us at Fourth Grade is Lauren Rogers. Lauren grew up in Elkhorn, NE and attended college at UNL. Lauren joined CPS last year when she student taught 1st grade at Lost Creek. Lauren then taught 4th grade at Lost Creek second semester when an additional track was added. We are so glad Lauren made the transfer to West Park! |
| Sarah Bakenhus just joined West Park last week as a Classroom Para. Growing up, Sarah’s family lived in different locations throughout the United States. Sarah moved to Columbus from Rochester, New York. Sarah has previously worked as a Preschool teacher and private nanny. We are happy Sarah has chosen to join our West Park Team! |
