New CHS Effort Recognizes, Encourages Academic Achievement

Columbus Public Schools and Columbus High School believe that celebrating the successes of current students and graduates is crucial to building a positive culture and acknowledging the great things CHS graduates have done.

Currently, CHS has an Athletic Hall of Fame that celebrates the successes of our athletes.  We are now in the process of developing an Academic Hall of Fame that celebrates the academic achievements of CHS graduates and students.

Items that are under consideration for inclusion in this hall of fame include National Merit Scholars, Top ACT Scores, Career and Technical Organization Championships, and an area for a Discoverers of Distinction (a criteria for inclusion is in development), among other possible categories.

The location of this hall will be in the Columbus High main entry where all who enter the building will be able to view the accomplishments of our graduates.  This project is important to the Columbus Public Schools community as well as the students that enter the building each day.  Current students should see the accomplishments of CHS graduates daily and recognize that their academic goals are achievable.

This project was made possible in part by the Jeanne Raimondo Memorial Fund.  Jeanne had a passion for education and always looked for ways to celebrate student success in our community.  We thank the Raimondo Family for their efforts in making this project possible.
