Fun and engaging during her class, Tammy Lyon hopes her first grade class at Emerson learns every day. Her favorite part, hearing when it sticks.
"Just recently, I've been with the district long enough now that I see a lot of kids that are in high school or graduated," Lyon said of seeing students outside of school. "And they'll often tell me something they enjoyed or liked in first grade. ... It's so rewarding to me that they remember first grade, and that they're doing well."
