J.P. Holys starts his day at Lost Creek early.
"I get here early. I'm a morning person by nature," said the Lost Creek principal. "I look forward to getting here earlier ... so when teachers arrive at school they (don't) have to worry about anything else other than getting ready for the kids and the kids getting ready for their day."
What that day entails though, you just have to react to.
"That's the big difference between teaching and being an administrator. As a teacher I had everything planned out. It didn't always work out that way, though," Holys said. "As a principal it's kind of (the) opposite. You have a few major things you want to accomplish during the day ... but there are a lot of reactive things that happen."
