STEM Night at WP

The West Park PTO sponsored a 3rd and 4th grade STEM Night on Nov. 11th.

We began our evening with a pizza supper in the gym.  Families enjoyed their meal and getting to visit with one another.  Following the meal, parents and students divided into groups and went to our 3rd and 4th grade classrooms for STEM activities.

In the classroom teachers planned a variety of fun activities for families.  In 4th-grade parents enjoyed building structures with their children using gum drops, marshmallows, and toothpicks.  Third grade families used Kinex and Lego building sets for their structures.  Families were given challenges for their projects such as: Build a structure with 5 sides or build a structure that is 6 inches tall.  Families had a lot of fun working together during the evening.
