Attendance Expectations:

  • Students are expected to attend every day.
  • Parents/guardians will be called to verify absences.
  • Behavior problems will result in removal from the program.

Covid-19 Precautions:

  • Only 15 students per classroom
  • Each student will be screened on arrival using a temperature check
  • Staff and students will wear masks
  • Physical distancing will be maintained in the classroom
  • Students and staff will wash their hands every 2-hours
  • Students will remain with the same group the entire morning

Transportation:
CPS offers transportation for students who opt to ride the bus to and from summer school. Transportation is provided from 5 pick-up/drop-off sites. If you are interested in transportation please complete the Bus Permission Form.

CPS 2020 Elementary Summer School Registration

Currently, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade are waitlist only.

Columbus Public Schools is offering summer school for all students in grades K-3. This year’s session is scheduled for July 6 - 24. Our goal is to help students get a jumpstart on their learning in preparation for the upcoming school year. Direct instruction will be implemented for the areas of reading and math.

To register your child, please complete this Google Form. This year, there will be no cost for attending summer school.

All students who attend summer school will pick-up a sack lunch as they are leaving school at the end of their learning session. All lunches meet the Federal Guidelines for a healthy lunch.

The registration deadline is Friday, June 26. Registration forms received after that date will be accepted only if space is available in the classes.

CPS 2020 Middle School Summer School Registration

  • Dates: July 6 – July 24 (15 days total)
  • Time: 8:30 a.m. – Noon
  • Days: Monday – Friday

Columbus Middle School offers Jump Start Summer school for incoming 5th- and 6th-grade students. This opportunity is beneficial to “jump-start” student learning in preparation for the upcoming school year. Direct instruction will be implemented in the areas of reading and math. Jump Start summer school is July 6-24, Monday-Friday. The hours are from 8:30 a.m. - noon at CMS.

CMS will have many safety measures in place to ensure all students are safe. Every person’s temperature will be checked when they arrive daily. Students and teachers will be required to wear a mask. If your child does not have a mask, we will provide one for them. Everyone will wash their hands when they arrive and every two hours. Hand sanitizer is also available. Students will not be sharing materials and will be spread out to meet the current health requirements. Everyone’s health is our number one priority to ensure this is a safe place for everyone.

CPS 2020 High School Summer School Registration

Who: CHS Students who need to recover or earn new credits in order to advance or graduate on time.
Where: All courses offered in-person at Columbus High School.
When: July 6 - 24: Monday - Friday
Time: 

Session 1: 8 to 11 a.m.
Session 2: Noon to 3 p.m.

Classes: Speech (Must attend BOTH sessions 1 & 2 daily.
                English Language Development Level C (Must attend BOTH sessions 1 & 2 daily)
                Algebra I (Must attend session 1 daily)
                Algebra II (Must attend session 2 daily) 

Cost: $50 per class (those qualifying for free or reduced lunch will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the class with a passing grade.
The registration deadline is June 22, 2020. SPOT RESERVED WHEN FEE IS PAID.
