Welcome to North Park!
“Home of the Explorers”
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the North Park Elementary website. North Park Elementary School is one of five elementary schools in the Columbus Public School District. North Park is located on the north side of Columbus at 2200 31st. Street. North Park’s highly caring and qualified staff currently serves approximately 300 students in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade. The school has remained in its current location since the early 1960’s. It has gone through three renovation projects which have transformed North Park into very modern, elementary school building. The latest renovation was completed in 2007, while the largest and most comprehensive renovation project was completed in 2003. Old classrooms were updated and several new ones were added. A functional media center and computer lab were two needed additions, while a large beautiful gymnasium was built to really transform this building into a first class elementary school building.
Programs available at North Park include: English as a Second Language, Special Education, Speech, Music, Physical Education, and Media/Technology and Title I Reading. North Park also offers the services of a school counselor and nurse.
Our primary focus is to live our district’s mission statement, “Engaging all learners to achieve success”. We strive to be a school where students feel like their school is just an extension of their family. We try to make our decisions based on what is best for each individual child. We work diligently to help our students learn what is necessary to become helpful, productive members of our community, state, nation and world. Although teaching reading and math skills are two of our highest priorities, teaching students to BE DISCOVERERS by, Being Safe, Being Respectful and Being Responsible are also very important to us. These are the North Park rules we want our students and staff to live by.
