West Park welcomed 6 new staff members to their team this fall. We are so glad to have the new faces join us. Please help us in welcoming our new staff members!
Macy Lenihan is joining West Park as a part of our Kindergarten Team. She graduated from Columbus High in 2011. Macy traveled to Colorado and attended Colorado Christian University where she earned her Bachelor’s in Youth Ministry. After graduation, Macy felt the call of being a teacher, so she attended the College of St. Mary where she completed a Masters in Elementary Education. Macy student taught last Spring at Emerson Elementary, the school she attended as a child. We are excited to welcome Macy to our West Park Family.
Our next new face is Carrie Jaixen. Carrie is also a Columbus native. She graduated from Lakeview Community School in 2011. After high school Carrie attended the College of St. Mary where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education. Carrie comes to us from Central City Public Schools where she taught 3rd grade the last 5 years. Carrie is joining the Special Education Team at both West Park and Emerson. We are thrilled to have Carrie join our team!
Shelby Engel joined our West Park Preschool Team as a para. Shelby is a CHS graduate and attended UNK after high school. Shelby has three children who all attend Columbus Public Schools. We are happy Shelby has chosen to join our West Park Team!
Kelly Young joined our West Park Preschool Team as a para. Kelly is a Columbus native. She worked at Vishay Electronics before joining our West Park Team. We are pleased to welcome Kelly to West Park.
Nataly Aceves is joining West Park as an EL para in our Recently Arrived Program. Nataly has worked as an EL para with the Omaha and Norfolk Public schools. We are happy Nataly has chosen to join our West Park Team!
Our next new face is Jan Wieberdink, who is a classroom para. For the past 19 years Jan taught K-2nd grade at Columbus Christian School. We are excited to welcome Jan to our team.
