CHS sophomore to represent state at certification event

For many years, the CHS Business Department has offered Microsoft Certifications for students.  These certifications give students the knowledge and skills needed to understand the workings of Microsoft programs and how they relate to real world applications.  Students that complete the certifications have the opportunity to compete against other students across the country.

This year, based on his overall test score, CHS sophomore Ezekiel Cervantes qualified to represent Nebraska in the Microsoft Office Powerpoint Certification Championship to be held in June in Orlando, Florida.  The Microsoft Championships offer students an opportunity to compete against other top students from all 50 states. d

Columbus High School Business teacher Abby Sayers says Ezekiel has a great opportunity to do well at the Microsoft Championships. “He put in tremendous effort throughout the semester practicing for his certification exams in Gmetrix. He not only got certified in PowerPoint, but he also got certified in Word and Excel. His work ethic, attention to detail, and problem solving skills will help him be a great contender at Nationals. We are so proud to have you represent CHS!”

Congratulations to Ezekiel and his accomplishments.  We know that he will represent Columbus High School and Nebraska in the best manner possible.
