Nebraska Extension – Platte County led the 4-H School Enrichment program called Leadership Summit for all CMS 5th graders. The Leadership Summit was a hiking theme experience where students spent all day learning about themselves and how to work with others. The morning featured the opportunity to learn about their own personality and how they naturally operate as a leader as well as learning how to recognize, accept and value differences among their peers. Students rotated through sessions called Scenic Lookout (how to be an effective listener), Teamwork Tightrope (teamwork through communication), Tower Building (teamwork through working together) and Cards of Value (learning how to treat everyone respectfully). The day provided an opportunity for students to learn actively about how to be a great leader.
