Community partnerships are just one of the many reasons we love Columbus Public Schools!

On Wednesday, Dr. Wanda Cloet and her team of dental hygiene students from Central Community College - Hastings spent the morning at West Park performing dental screenings. These screenings included an assessment of the oral cavity, inspection of each student's teeth and application of sealants if applicable. Occupational Health staff from Columbus Community Hospital served as a liaison and provided dental kits provided by DHHS to each participating student whose parent completed the consent form. We had 80 students participate!

Thank you to CCH & Dr. Cloet's team for making this a great event at West Park Elementary!

NO SCHOOL for Students -- Friday, December 12th

West Park Student Council shopped for the Columbus Holiday Spirit Inc. last week. We used our Smencil Sale money and were able to purchase Christmas gifts and clothes for 2 children in need.Thank you to all the students and families who support us by buying Smencils!

Thank you to West Park families and staff who donated to our Thanksgiving Food Drive. The Student Council collected and delivered 175 pounds to the Platte County Food Pantry! We appreciate your donations.

Join the CPS community on December 2, 2025 from 6-7pm at Columbus High for the CPS Foundation annual Lighting of the Anchor event. Come and enjoy the holiday cheer and see Santa!
