As part of its requirements, CPS is required to submit an illness plan to the Nebraska Department of Education.  Below you will be able to learn more about the 2022-2023 illness plan.  Translations can be found in English, Spanish and French. This plan was approved by the CPS Board of Education during the August 8, 2022 meeting and was made public on the CPS website on August 11, 2022.

If a staff member or student tests positive for COVID:

  1. They/You must stay home for 5 calendar days (not work days/schooldays) and self monitor symptoms.
    1. Day 1 is the first day you felt symptoms.
  2. If symptom free after 5 calendar days, students and staff may come back to work and are required to wear a mask for 5 calendar days.

**There are no determinations whether a person is vaccinated or not.

If an at home test is performed and is positive, parents must send the results (documentation and pictures of the at home COVID test) in an EMAIL to the nurse in the student's building.
