Columbus, NE – The Columbus High Athletic and Activities Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Turner Trofholz who will be taking over as the Assistant Athletic Director at Columbus High School for the 2024-2025 school year.  Trofholz is taking over for Austin Carmichael who has accepted the position of Assistant Principal at CHS.

Turner comes from Shelby-Rising City where he has served as a Physical Education teacher, Coach, Dean of Students, and most recently as Activities Director.  Before arriving in Shelby-Rising City, Turner started his teaching and coaching career at Grand Island Northwest in 2008 before becoming the head boys basketball coach at Logan View in 2010.  Turner has been part of the Shelby-Rising City school district since 2014.

Trofholz, from Schuyler, Nebraska, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Dakota and his Master of Education from Wayne State College.
