new head girls tennis coach lisa emeigh

Columbus High School has announced the appointment of Lisa Emeigh as the new head coach for the Columbus Discoverers girls tennis program. Emeigh steps into the role following the resignation of Coach Kim Leibhart earlier this summer.

Tim Kwapnioski, Columbus High’s Director of Athletics and Activities, expressed enthusiasm about the hire. "We’re excited to welcome Lisa as the new head coach of Discoverer women’s tennis," Kwapnioski stated. "Lisa brings with her a proven track record of success, leading a competitive program at Norris High School. Just as importantly, she has a reputation for building meaningful and encouraging relationships with student-athletes and a commitment to academic achievement. Coach Emeigh's objective for the future of our tennis programs is to inspire, motivate, challenge, instruct, and improve team performance while developing the love of tennis."

Coach Emeigh began her coaching career in 2007, where she was instrumental in launching the inaugural tennis program at Norris Public Schools. Most recently, she joined Columbus High School in 2023 as an assistant girls tennis coach, a position she has held for the past few years. Beyond her coaching roles, Emeigh also offers private lessons and assists with summer "open courts" for middle and high school tennis players.

A graduate of Doane University with a degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Early Childhood and Middle School grades 6-9, Lisa Emeigh is also employed by the Columbus YMCA and serves as a local substitute teacher.
