Students: Just a reminder you can always see the daily announcements on the high school website under news.


Students: You need to bring your student ID to the nurses office for every visit. You will not be able to receive any medication without your student ID. This helps staff to identify who you are when administering medications. Thank you for your cooperation.


All students: If you would like to receive text messages like you have in the past with the Remind App, you will need to accept your ParentSquare invite. In addition, please check your cell number in your Synergy Student View to verify it is correct.


The deadline to register for the December ACT is November 7th.  Junior and seniors have access to ontocollege.com to study and review test taking tips.  Please stop by your counselor's office before or after school to get a fee waiver that will cover the cost and provide additional study tools.


Auditions for the CHS competitive A Cappella groups, Baker's Dozen and Neptune's Angels, will take place on Monday, November 10 at 4:00pm in the choir room.  This audition is open to any student at CHS who is interested. Contact Mr. Ritter for more information!


There will be a boys basketball meeting in Coach Sliva's room , F160 on Tuesday November 4th right after school. 


There will be a player and parent bowling meeting on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 5:30pm in the CHS IMC. If you have questions, please contact Bob Jaster at jasterrb@discoverers.org.


If you are a student that has completed or is currently enrolled in Health Science One, and wish to apply for the Certified Nursing Assistant class in the spring semester; please stop by Ms. Kallhoff's room and pick up an application. If you have questions about the CNA class, either email Ms. Kallhoff, or stop by her room, C-111 before or after school.

 

Applications will be due on November 6th at 4pm.


All Juniors, Seniors, or staff that are 17 years or older, please consider donating blood in the upcoming blood drive on Tuesday, November 11th. You can sign up to donate using the QR code on the Blood Drive flyers around the school. You could also talk to a student in NHS, Mrs. Pelc, or Mrs. Riedmiller, and they will get you the link to sign up. If you are 17, you need to have a parent consent form. Please pick this up from and return it to Mrs. Pelc (F201) or Mrs. Riedmiller (F229).

  • Beginning today, the band practice lot will be open for seniors only to park in.

  • For those students who wish to purchase a football state playoff shirt, please see your google classroom to order. Orders accepted through Monday, October 27, 2025 at midnight.

Wednesday, October 29

  • Juniors & Seniors:  UNL Engineering Department will be here Wednesday, October 29, to speak to anyone interested in hearing about their opportunities.  Please check your counseling google classroom to sign up to attend.

  • There will be a swim and dive meeting on Wednesday, October 29, for all students interested in participating in the swim and dive team at 2:50 pm in the IMC. If you have questions, please contact Coach Janicek at: janicekt@discoverers.org.

  • Students: There is a possibility that CHS would take a bus for you to attend the district football game on Friday. You are responsible for your entrance to the game and any snacks purchased. If you are interested, please sign up on the form with Ms. Maass in the office by Wednesday.

Friday, October 31

  • Students--The senior (west) lot will be closed for on Friday, October 31, all day in preparation for Trunk or Treat. Please park in the east parking lot. The senior (west) lot will be open on Monday, November 3, 2025.

  • Attention, all students. Student Council is sponsoring the hiding of witches' hats around the building all day on Halloween. If you find a witches' hat in the hallway, please bring it to room F165 (Mrs. Huey's room) to exchange it for a treat bag. Please stay in your classrooms during the class period and look for them during the passing periods. You may only turn in one witches' hat, so if you find a second one, give it to a friend. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Students, please remember that Halloween costumes are not permitted in school on Friday.
