It was a great day for the Columbus speech team at the A1 District Meet hosted at Lincoln East. Four events made the final round, which is the highest number of events we have had final at districts from our school in at least ten years. Within those four events, 8 individual students competed in the final round. Here are the results:
Raj: 5th place Informative
Isabella: 6th place Humorous Prose
Caleb, Mya, Lamara, David: 6th place OID
Layla and Opal: 8th place DUO
I am extremely proud of all the students who attended the district contest, as well as everyone who has participated on our team throughout the long season. My goal for this team at the start of the year was to have at least one district finalist, and they have vastly exceeded those expectations. And with only one senior graduating, the future looks bright for our group. Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout this year!
