Columbus High School has announced the appointment of Conner Lowery as the new head coach of the Discoverers girls basketball program. She steps into the role following the resignation of Andrew Johnson.
Tim Kwapnioski, Columbus High School’s Director of Athletics and Activities, expressed enthusiasm about the hire.
“We’re excited to welcome Conner as the new head coach of the Discoverers girls basketball team,” Kwapnioski said. “Conner brings a proven record as an assistant at Columbus High School since 2022. Just as importantly, she has built a reputation for developing meaningfully, encouraging relationships with student-athletes and maintaining a strong commitment to academics. Her vision is to encourage, motivate, challenge, and develop our players while continuing to cultivate their passion for the game.”
Coach Lowery began her coaching career as an assistant girls basketball coach at Palmer Public Schools, where she also coached track and field. She joined Columbus Public School in 2022 after accepting a teaching position at Centennial Elementary, while also serving as an assistant basketball coach for the Discoverers.
Lowery is a graduate of Wayne State College, where she earned a degree in K–12 Health and Physical Education.
