COLUMBUS, Neb. — Columbus High School Director of Athletics and Activities Tim Kwapnioski has announced the hiring of Paxton Mohr as the new head coach of the Columbus High boys golf program.

“We are excited to announce Paxton Mohr as the new head boys golf coach at Columbus High School,” Kwapnioski said. “He has been mentored by one of the best golf coaches in the state, Anne Robertson, and is ready to lead our boys golf program into the future. Paxton is an ambassador for the game of golf and will be a great teacher and mentor for our incredible student-athletes. The future is promising.”

Mohr takes over the program following the retirement of Robertson from coaching, who led the Discoverers boys golf team for the past five seasons after serving as an assistant coach for the previous eight years.  Coach Robertson will continue to teach at Columbus High.

Mohr will be starting his second year at Columbus High School, where he teaches social studies. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2025.

A graduate of Diller-Odell High School, Mohr was a four-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, baseball, and golf. While attending the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, he worked at Mahoney Golf Course alongside Columbus High School alumnus Jonathan Benson, further developing his passion and knowledge for the game of golf.

Mohr brings a strong background in education, athletics, and golf instruction to the position and will look to continue the tradition of success established within the Columbus High School boys golf program.
