See below information regarding CHS parent-teacher conferences (February 15 & 16) along with the upcoming school schedule.

Parent-teacher conferences are being held: 

  • Wednesday, February 15, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. 
  • Thursday, February 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. 

We welcome your child to attend conferences with you.


In addition, please join us for the presentation Next Steps: Finances, Facilities, and Estimates on Wednesday, February 15th, at 6:00 pm in the CHS Concert Hall.  CPS has collected over 550 surveys and is currently conducting community phone surveys, but we would like to hear from all of our parents and guardians.


Also, Wednesday, February 15, is a 3:40 p.m. dismissal time


Due to conferences, there is no school for students on:

  • Thursday, February 16
  • Friday, February 17

School will resume on Monday, February 20, with a regular day of classes. On Wednesday, February 22, we will be using the Wednesday bell schedule with a 2:35 p.m. dismissal time.

There will be a final parent meeting on Monday, February 20th at 5:00 PM for those who are signed up to attend the Close Up Trip in March. This meeting will include finalized details about the trip. Please encourage your parents/guardian to attend. The meeting will take place in Mr. Coan's room (G137).


Students interested in being a part of next year's yearbook staff should plan to attend a meeting on Tuesday, 2/21, after school in G236. If you cannot attend or have questions, please contact Mrs. Kwapnioski.


There is a meeting on Monday, February 20th for all boys planning to tryout for baseball. This meeting is from 3:45 to 4:00 in F214.  If you can't attend, please contact Coach Johnson.



UNL Engineering will have a representative at CHS during homeroom on Thursday, February 23rd to discuss all the details regarding their program.  Use the link found in the College & Career google classroom to register or contact Mrs. Loeffelholz.



February 13-15 is National FCCLA Week. Please see the flyer below for activities.



Spring sports season starts on February 27, 2023.  Any students interested in going out for a spring sport need to have the following completed before they are able to practice and compete:

  • 1.  Physical completed and turned in
  • 2.  Purchase a C-Stamp  
  • 3.  Register and complete the required paperwork on SmartSchoolK-12

  • Juniors:  Remember if you have questions or need assistance completing your registration form for senior year, use the link found in your counseling google classroom to sign up for Tuesday's homeroom work session.
  • Congratulations to our Class A Boys District 3 Wrestling Champions and our individual 11 boys and 1 girl state qualifiers. Good Good luck at state!


  • This week is: FCCLA Week. Monday is Chapter Pride. Non-members can participate in FCCLA events!
    • Wear your chapter shirt to school.
    • Picture after school.
    • Chapter game night at 6 pm in Ms Jaixen's room-bring a friend! Snacks will be provided for game night.       FCCLA game night is postponed to a later date!

Tuesday, February 14

  • This week is: FCCLA Week. Tuesday is FCCLA Day. Non-members can participate in FCCLA events!
    • Wear red to school.
    • Members bring a friend for ice cream after school.




Wednesday, February 15

  • Wednesday, February 15, is a 3:40 p.m. dismissal time. 
  • This week is: FCCLA Week. Wednesday is Teacher Appreciation Day. Non-members can participate in FCCLA events!
    • Dress as your favorite teacher. The best dress will win a prize!  
    • Pass out Teacher goodie bags!
  • CHS will host a winter activities pep rally during Homeroom on Wednesday, February 15th. Students should go directly to the main gym at the conclusion of 2nd period on Wednesday and sit in their assigned grade levels. At the conclusion of the pep rally, students will go to their third period class. Parents & Guardians: if you would like to attend, you may arrive at 9:45am and sit on the SE side of the gym.
