NP Fitbits

Winter is almost here and the holidays are right around the corner once again! The high school football season has ended, but the basketball and wrestling seasons are just beginning. I enjoy watching both sports and the Discoverer teams really appreciate the support of those that attend their events.

In PE class, the students have finished throwing/catching skills, and are currently finishing up Jump Rope skills. The classes have been working on a variety of moves and are enjoying some Jump Rope Challenges: Who can jump the longest without a miss? Our students are embracing friendly competitions to improve their endurance and skills.

Get ready to serve, set, and spike! As we transition to Striking/Volleying skills (volleyball), our young athletes will learn the basics of this exciting sport. With modified equipment and age-appropriate activities, we're focusing on:

Balloon/Beach Ball Volleyball: Using balloons and beach balls as our “volleyballs,” we’re working on hand-eye coordination and teamwork. It’s a lighthearted introduction to the game of volleyball.

Upon the completion of Striking/Volleying activities, we'll finish out the 2nd quarter with some festive Holiday games. Who doesn't like a little fun and laughter during this time of year?

***Body Trivia:  How many ribs do humans have?  Most people have 24 rib bones, or 12 pair.

As we celebrate the magic of December, let's also prioritize wellness. Stay active, eat healthy foods, and get plenty of rest.

Wishing you all a joyful holiday season!
