The kindness challenge set forth from Mr. Clark is going strong at West Park. Our kindness chain is growing! It's almost halfway down our long hallway on both sides! Mrs. Lawrence even had some help from a student while hanging more links. Great job West Park Mustangs!!! #BeDiscovererKind #BeKind

Students will have a full day of school on Wednesday, Feb. 13th, with a 3:25 dismissal. There is no school for students on Thursday or Friday.
It's a new month for our BOX TOPS contest! Please remind students to look for Box Tops at home and bring to school! Let’s see how many Hearts we can put on the tree outside the nurse’s office! Every Box Top counts! Turn into Health office! This contest will go until Feb. 28th!

West Park staff members are participating in monthly challenges to stay healthy. We recently held a drawing in which members who participated in 2 or 3 of the monthly challenges could win a $10 Subway gift card. Staff members who participated in all the monthly challenges had a chance to win $25 toward something to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle (new sneakers, workout gear, weights, swim goggles, etc.) We want to be healthy role models for our students!

Parent/Teacher Conference notes will be coming home today, Feb. 4th. If the time assigned to you doesn't work, please call the school office to reschedule. 402-563-7075

Jeremiah Sirles visited West Park last week. He is a former Husker and currently is an Offensive Lineman for the Buffalo Bills. He spoke to the students about perseverance and how working hard now, will help them in the future. He also talked about how important teachers are to students and that they would do anything for their kids. Jeremiah ended the assembly by having the kids play a fun team building game.

Columbus Public Schools will remain open today with students being dismissed at the regular time. As in all inclement weather events, parents can choose to check out and pick up their children early. If another adult or sibling is picking up your child, you must please call the school to let them know who that person is.
The 3rd graders really enjoyed having Ms. Jones as their student teacher. Good Luck to Ms. Jones in her future career!

The Kindness Challenge at West Park is going strong! For each act of random kindness, an additional link will be added to our chain. Some examples so far are: Liz helped Tucker trace his hands, Autumn got Colton's math book for him, Mia had tripped over her neighbor's chair and Sophia came to see if she was okay, Hunter picked up a water bottle when it fell,Colt picked up someone's book that fell. Every little bit of kindness helps someone! "Kindness is good for you! Kindness is good for me! Kindness is good for Columbus!

The Second Graders will have a decorated cookie sale on Wednesday, December 5. The profits will be used to purchase gifts for needy children in our community. This project allows the second graders to study needs and wants, goods and services, and producers and consumers. Each cookie will be sold for $.25 each.

Way to go to Lauren, Rowan and Emma! They were recognized for displaying random acts of kindness! They each received a yard sign showing how proud we are of them! Congratulations!!! "Kindness is good for you! Kindness is good for me! Kindness is good for Columbus!" ~ Mr. Clark
