Sometimes you Just Dance! Mrs. Gustafson's language arts class averaged an 89% on their vocabulary test this week, so a few minutes of celebrating was in order! Great work, 7th graders!

CMS STUCO is hosting a Food Drive the week of Nov. 7th. Bring non-perishable food items to your advisory! Classes will build castles with the food they collect and STUCO will vote for the Best Castles at the end of the week! All food collected will be donated to the Platte County Food Bank.


8th grade science has had a busy week building roller coasters. Students needed to demonstrate knowledge of forces and how energy changes in order to be successful.





The 7th graders celebrated Halloween by creating their own Spooky Black-Out Poetry from excerpts of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories. These girls from Mrs. Foster's class even came in during their free time to work on more poems! Here are some examples. Enjoy!

In 7th grade LA, our Explanatory Essays are due this week, and our Unit 1 Vocab Test is next week. Also, make sure your student brings back the permission slip before next week to watch "The Mighty!"


The 8th graders did such an outstanding job reading "The Outsiders" for Language Arts and really seemed to enjoy it! We are now reading the novel "Touching Spirit Bear" by Ben Mikaelsen. The main character has to find a way to deal with a troubled past in order to have a future. Look for these books and packets to be in the students' backpacks today!

It was the final day for the Minute to Win It competition in 7th grade Advisory. It was Jelly Belly day, and on the final day? Maroon wins! What a fun way to end the week! Don't forget NSCAS testing in language arts classes next Monday and Tuesday.


6th grade trumpets are off to a great start learning how to play their instruments with Mr. Klee!


It was challenge #2 today for the 7th grader Advisory classes. The Iron Man/Woman challenge was making a tower without using their hands! Silver wins again!


8th grade science isn’t losing their marbles over physics. They are using them to test how height and mass affect force. #newtonslaws
