In September, CPS mailed a survey to all registered voters who submitted a ballot in the May 9th special bond election. This survey is the first step of many to determine a new solution to address the needs of Columbus Public Schools. If you have not yet returned your survey we ask that you please do so by Friday, October 20th.

8th grade activity night is next Friday, October 13th, from 5:30 to 7:30
We are in need of:
-donations of money so we can purchase pizza
-donations of individually packed snacks or drinks (Little Debbies, cookies, fruit snacks, Gatorades, snack-size candy bars, etc.) for the snack walk
-supervisors to monitor the students in a gym or at one of the games

CMS Student Council is now accepting nominations for the North Star Award!
Across the world, the North Star is seen as the Anchor of the Northern Sky, a constant, reassuring presence. It can help people determine and guide them in a purposeful direction. Symbolically, the North Star is seen as a beacon of hope and inspiration.
Please complete the form below to nominate a staff member who embodies the traits of the North Star. Anyone (Student, Parent, or Staff Member) may complete a nomination.
Each Quarter, Student Council will read through the nominations for the North Star Award and select the winners. Staff may be nominated more than once but they will only receive the award once in a school year.

🏐 On Thursday, 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams played Norfolk. 7th C team's season opener was a major success, while A and B fell short. For 8th grade, A team was victorious while B and C left without a win. Tonight all teams face Walnut - 7th at home and 8th away! Good luck, girls! 💥 🏐

CHS will be hosting an immunization clinic in partnership with ECDHD on September 28th. Appointments can be made by calling ECDHD.
The 5th graders are working hard discovering volume measurement in this hands on activity using unit cubes.
The CMS 5th Graders are settling nicely as they master the challenging skill of opening their lockers!
How do we increase our love of reading? We practice! The 7th grade language arts classes are spending the first 10 minutes of class reading every day. The kids in Ms. Gustafson's class are really enjoying their books of choice!
CMS 8th graders worked in small groups this morning to investigate the credibility of websites. They learned how to identify credible sources, spot biased information, and compare websites. Ask your Digital Media student about the "Rule of 3"!
The Columbus Area United Way is offering a workshop on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 6 pm. Attend the workshop and Learn How to Keep Your Child Safe Online.
