
7th Grade Activity Night will be Friday, December 7 from 5:30-7:30 for CMS students. The cost is $3 and students must have their IDs. Parents we need your help still by supervising the event, provide prepackaged snacks for the snack walk or make a donation of money to use for prizes, snacks, and pizza. CMS Cheerleading is hosting 5th graders in a Cheer Camp 11/27-12/6! 5th graders learn cheers, poster making, and games! The 7th and 8th graders are excellent mentors and coaches to the 5th grade students! Great work girls!

The Columbus After School Program will present the Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Nantkes Performing Arts Centers at CMS.
Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for children. CPS activity passes will be accepted.

7th Grade Math Students worked on finding the actual distances between cities and towns in Nebraska. They measured and used the scale within a proportion. GREAT WORK TODAY!




7th Grade Pre-Algebra found the percentage of each color in their sample of Froot Loops. They also created circle graphs to display their results! They came out GREAT!

8th Grade Students, Parents and Teachers - Thanks for all of your hard work and effort on the 8th Grade Science Fair projects. They were fantastic!

Good Afternoon Parents - reminder we will not have school on Wednesday, November 21 - Friday, November 23. School will resume on Monday, November 26 at 8:00am. Everyone have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!!

CMS eighth graders shared what they learned from their science project with the judges today. The students researched a topic and displayed their research on a board. The project included a hypothesis, procedures, data,conclusion and display board.





Congratulations to the science fair winners; 8 Maroon grand champion Alyvia and reserve champion Jenna and 8 Silver grand champion Liam and reserve champion Tyson. Nice job eighth graders!

The CMS Student Council created and hung locker signs for each student involved in a Winter activity, including Girls Basketball, Wrestling, Quiz Bowl, Math Counts, & All-State Choir Barbershop.




The CMS Student Council will be hosting a Food Drive to benefit the Platte County Food Pantry November 12-16th. Please bring donations of non-perishable food items to the activity entrance each morning during the week of November 12-16th.

After reading the book "Touching Spirit Bear" by Ben Mikaelsen, the 8th grade Language Arts students made their own totem poles to share their own stories.





CMS Parent Advisory Council Meeting Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 5:30 in the media center. All parents and guardians are welcome to join us.

A group of 7th-grade students attended WIN time for enrichment today in the style of an escape room. They worked in teams to solve clues about Ancient Egypt and open a series of locks. After they solved all 5 locks they were able to open the box and discover the surprise inside! All three teams were successful with time to spare!
