
Flag Football Parents: Due to thunderstorms and rain today we are postponing the games until tomorrow. There is no flag football tonight.

7th Grade Football game for today is postponed until 4:15 on Thursday, October 3. There is no practice today.

Congratulations to Ms. Joni Ebel for being recognized as a state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This is the highest recognition that a K-12 mathematics or science teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States. The award recognizes those teachers have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas. We are proud of you Ms. Ebel!

The CMS Student Council hung up over 300 lockers signs during WIN time for students participating in activities and clubs this year.

Football games on Thursday, September 12 will be played at Pawnee Park. 7th grade A team against Blair will start at 4:15. 8th grade A team against Walnut will start right after the 7th grade game. The game will not start any sooner than 5:15.

Our first Parent Advisory Council Meeting is tonight at 5:30 in the media center. All parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to come.

CMS 8th Graders made tacos this week in Foods class! This lab was to practice safety and sanitation skills.

CMS After School Program will begin signing students up for 1st quarter after hours clubs July 23 to July 31 from 9:00-4:00 at the After School Program Office, 2715 13th Street. Contact Stacey Whiting, Program Director 402-563-4901 with questions. Go early for best selection.

The USDA Summer Lunch Program will run from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. May 30-July 26 Monday through Friday at CMS, 2200 26 St. There will be no lunch served on July 4 and 5. The meal is free to all children ages 1-18. Adults accompanying a child may eat for $3.75. All meals meet USDA nutrition standards. The USDA Summer Lunch program serves meals with milk, meat, fruit, vegetables & bread. The USDA Food & Nutrition Service prohibits discrimination on race, color, national origin, age, sex or disability.

Reminder today, Wednesday 22nd is a regular dismissal at 3:30pm. Pep Rally times today are 5th grade 11:00am-12:00pm, 6th grade 9:30am-10:30am, 7th grade 1:25pm-2:25pm, and 8th grade 2:30pm-3:30pm. Tomorrow, Thursday 23rd dismissal is at noon unless your student has work missing.

The Board of Education Meeting scheduled for Monday, May 13th has been cancelled due CHS boys playing in the state championship soccer game. All student recognitions that were planned for this meeting will take place at the next meeting, which is Monday, May 20th.
