In 2L, we made pipe cleaner butterflies. Then we flew them from flower (containing cornmeal for pollen) to flower (containing coffee for pollen). We were able to observe how the pollen fell off the butterfly and mixed into the next flower. Fun!

North Park PTO invites you to our Family Fun Night this Thursday. Come play some fun Christmas movie themed games, visit with Santa, and win a prize!
Our kindergarteners wrapped up their farm unit this week, and they’ve learned SO much! 🌾🐄 From cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens to the many crops farmers grow, they explored where our food really comes from and why a farmer’s job is so important. They even followed the journey of food from the farm all the way to our homes. Proud of these little learners and all their hard work!

3R learned about transparent and opaque light. They showed their learning by creating shadows against opaque backgrounds. Third graders are lighting the way to a bright future!

Our Kindergarteners have been hard at work and having fun this week! Students have been learning important math skills by playing the classic card game “War.”
Through this playful activity, they’ve been practicing number recognition, comparing numbers, understanding “greater than” and “less than,” and building turn-taking and teamwork skills—all while thinking they’re just playing a game!
We love watching them learn, laugh, and grow through hands-on activities like this. ❤️♣️♦️♠️ Great job, Kindergarteners! Keep up the amazing work!

Student Council Food Drive was a great way to support our community. Thank you all for the food donations last week. Go Explorers!

The Kindergarteners in Mrs. Goering’s class have officially been earning their Boost minutes for 9 weeks now, and their hard work is really showing! Each week they’ve been practicing their reading skills, growing more confident, and becoming strong, enthusiastic readers.
Their imaginary adventure toward the “treasure” has taken them through rolling waves, past a rumbling volcano, and now to a spot where they have caught some fish! To celebrate this milestone, Mrs. Bird, our principal, surprised them with special fish-themed pencils as their reward.
We are so proud of their dedication and the excitement they bring to reading each week. Keep it up, Kindergarteners—your treasure is getting closer and closer! 📚🐠✨

Check out this new opportunity from the CHS Volleyball Team!

Our kindergarteners worked hard to honor the heroes who have served our country! They made special art projects, crowns, and heartfelt cards to say “thank you” to our veterans. We’re so proud of their creativity and gratitude today and every day. ❤️🤍💙

Thank you to the local businesses that donated supplies and volunteers to help with the 4-H Stem Day. First graders had fun learning about force, aerodynamics, light and vortex cannons. We also had the opportunity to sit in a portable planetarium from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the Edgerton Explorit Museum to learn more about the sun and moon. This was great information that we can refer back to as we discuss Patterns in the Sky for Science in 3rd quarter.
Thank you Platte County 4-H Extension office for inviting us to this event! We can't wait for another event like this next year!

Wrapped up our unit on Greek myths taking pictures of all of our actors and actresses during each day's lesson, props and all!

🌼 Busy Bees in Kindergarten 🐝
Our kindergarten students have been learning all about plants and how they grow! This week, we explored the amazing process of pollination — how flowers, seeds, and even bees work together to help plants grow and reproduce.
To make our learning come to life, students got to act out the process of pollination! Some students became buzzing bees, flying from flower to flower, while others were the flower sharing their pollen. It was adorable to watch them take on their roles and truly understand how important bees are for our world. 🌸💛
Hands-on learning like this helps our students connect reading and science to the world — and have a little fun along the way!

2B had a great time showing their Grand-Friends how it's done in second grade. They even got the chance to bring out their artistic side!

As weather continues to change here's a friendly reminder to help keep students warm during drop-off, recess and pick-up each day.

Mrs. Luedders' class has been doing lots of acting in our unit on the Greek gods. We have so many props, and we love it!

Students in 2L worked hard building their towers out of different materials. Will they stand up to weights and wind? We will find out!
