Students in 1st grade enjoyed learning about the Solar System and Earth's place in the universe in Reading Knowledge Domain 6. They learned facts about the solar system, planets, astronauts, and haven't wanted to take down the classroom display. Did you know that it would take more than 3 months on the fastest rocket ship to reach the sun?!
They also enjoyed learning about the history and layers of the Earth in Reading Knowledge Domain 7. They got to learn a bit about dinosaurs, fossils, geologists and paleontologists in that unit.
It's been fun having older students share what they're learning and making connections to 1st grade content! They are always wondering what hallway displays the 1st grade classes will put up next to brighten the hallways!

You won't want to "mist" this! The Kindergarteners are "snow" excited to share their finished hallway display of all of the seasons. They've spent the past few weeks learning about each season and the type of weather that occurs during winter, spring, summer, and fall (also known as autumn). This unit was full of "weather-ful" learning!

The Kindergarteners at North Park had a fun-filled day celebrating the 100th day of school on Monday. They practiced counting to 100 many times that day which included making necklaces by counting 100 pieces of fruit loops cereal, making 100 dots on an art project, doing 100 jumping jacks, and even finding 100 chocolate kisses around their classroom. 100 days of learning is definitely worth celebrating!

Here ye, hear ye! The kindergarteners declare that every unit should end with a dance party from now on. The students have been learning about kings and queens in their recent reading unit so to celebrate the end of this unit, the classes each had their very own royal tea party and ball. The students thoroughly enjoyed dressing up, making crowns, eating special treats, drinking out of fancy cups, and they even got to learn how to dance at a ball. We think that it’s safe to say that they had a royally good time!

2B had the best time exploring wind erosion in science!!!💨💨💨
The goggles made it even more fun!👩🔬🧑🔬🔬

The North Park Pizza Ranch night is still on for tonight from 5:00-8:00 PM. Any dine in, carry out, or even delivery sales will count towards North Park's totals. Please come support if you can.

3.. 2.. 1.. 1R is ready for lift off! First grade just finished their Reading Knowledge unit about the solar system. The students were "over the moon" excited to create their very own space exhibit in the hallway!

North Park Student Council hosted their first Blood Drive along with some CHS students. The goal was to collect 38 units and we surpassed that and collected 44 units! Thank you to everybody that came and donated! The winter months are especially a critical time to donate as supply is low.

Singing loud for all to hear...

2B had the best time making ice cream cone Christmas trees!!😋🎄

This year, North Park and Super Saver have, again, partnered together with the Apples for the Students Program. By shopping at Super Saver, you can help North Park earn points to use toward purchasing supplies. With last year's points, we purchased a lot of games that the students can play during indoor recess. Help us earn points by simply shopping at Super Saver and then by placing your receipt in the North Park bucket by the Super Saver exit or by dropping off the receipt in the box located at the North Park entrance. Thanks!
