Here ye, hear ye! The kindergarteners declare that every unit should end with a dance party from now on. The students have been learning about kings and queens in their recent reading unit so to celebrate the end of this unit, the classes each had their very own royal tea party and ball. The students thoroughly enjoyed dressing up, making crowns, eating special treats, drinking out of fancy cups, and they even got to learn how to dance at a ball. We think that it’s safe to say that they had a royally good time!

North Park Student Council hosted their first Blood Drive along with some CHS students. The goal was to collect 38 units and we surpassed that and collected 44 units! Thank you to everybody that came and donated! The winter months are especially a critical time to donate as supply is low.

Kindergarten just finished their Reading Knowledge unit about farms. To celebrate, they made their own farm in the hallway including 4 different kinds of crops and 3 different farm animals. If you are in the building, stop by and see our "Kindergarten Farm!"

This year, North Park and Super Saver have, again, partnered together with the Apples for the Students Program. By shopping at Super Saver, you can help North Park earn points to use toward purchasing supplies. With last year's points, we purchased a lot of games that the students can play during indoor recess. Help us earn points by simply shopping at Super Saver and then by placing your receipt in the North Park bucket by the Super Saver exit or by dropping off the receipt in the box located at the North Park entrance. Thanks!

1S learned all about where our food comes from last week. Mr. Blake read "How did that get in my lunch box?" then led us in a matching game. Students sorted the food products into piles of plant based or animal based. We can't wait to have the 4-H extension office come again. Thank you Mr. Blake!

Just like the adults today, students got to cast their vote! 1S students voted for their favorite Reading Knowledge Unit so far. After they voted and turned in their ballots, they received an "I voted" sticker. Ask them all about it!

Thank you Flexcon for donating your colorful sticky paper scraps to the schools as it made for a fun way to decorate. Thank you to Daniel's Produce for donating pumpkins to our classroom.
