The Kindergarteners love when their Rockin' Reader comes to visit each week. Today he read them a story and played games with them in the classroom.

The Kindergarten students had a special visitor today who taught them about germs and the importance of washing our hands to help us to stay healthy. The 4H instructor brought "glow-in-the-dark germs" for the students to practice their handwashing skills to help wash the germs away.

1st grade learned about germs today with Ms. Kimberly from the 4H extension office. They were able to see "glowing germs", then wash their hands to see if those "germs" were removed. Many students were heard singing the "ABCs" while they washed their hands to get the 20 seconds of washing in. This "Fight Bac!" lesson went well with our lesson about germs and staying healthy during Reading Knowledge today!

Kindergarten is continuing to learn and explore their 5 senses. Today the students learned about their sense of taste and the four different types of taste: sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. The students taste tested different food items and marked whether they liked them or disliked them. Most flavors were a big hit besides the lemon juice (as you can tell from the photos)!

Kindergarten has started learning about their 5 senses. Today's focus was on smell. We did a "Smell the Rainbow" activity where students had to smell six different flavors of Jello powder and guess what they were! They loved it!

1st grade has been learning about the Human Body and all the systems during Reading Knowledge. 1S has had a visitor join us for the unit and the class has named him Bobby Bones. The class enjoys coming in and seeing his different hats, shoes and poses. Ask your 1st grader all about what they've learned!
