The Kindergarten students had a special visitor today who taught them about germs and the importance of washing our hands to help us to stay healthy. The 4H instructor brought "glow-in-the-dark germs" for the students to practice their handwashing skills to help wash the germs away.

1st grade learned about germs today with Ms. Kimberly from the 4H extension office. They were able to see "glowing germs", then wash their hands to see if those "germs" were removed. Many students were heard singing the "ABCs" while they washed their hands to get the 20 seconds of washing in. This "Fight Bac!" lesson went well with our lesson about germs and staying healthy during Reading Knowledge today!

Kindergarten is continuing to learn and explore their 5 senses. Today the students learned about their sense of taste and the four different types of taste: sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. The students taste tested different food items and marked whether they liked them or disliked them. Most flavors were a big hit besides the lemon juice (as you can tell from the photos)!
